What Causes Sudden Rise In BP?

Hi, this is Walt May Is there any unintended consequence for taking 1/day of a 325 mg aspirin I am 70 years old in good health, almost athletic, have no aches or pains anywhere. There is only a concern for mild hyper tension.I have a CDL with hazmat that requires a medical exam every two years. My blood pressure always checks 115/86 at home but at the exam,it is130/91. I take no drugs [legal or illegal]

General & Family Physician 's  Response

Hello, my name is Dr Olgeta Xhufka. I understand your concern. There are no side effects of taking aspirine daily. It is recommended for everyone over 40 to take half aspirine tablet daily to prevent blood clothing. The sudden rise in BP in doctors room is due to the stress and is called whitecoat syndrome. Nothing is to worry. Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
