What Causes Sudden Sweating For A 66 Year Old Male?

My husband, age 66, was walking at our mall this afternoon. He suddenly started sweating and it did not stop. He went to the car and sat in the air conditioning until he felt better. Driving the short drive home he became very sleepy. He came home and slept. Anything to be concerned about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Experiencing sudden sweating followed by tiredness can happen commonly in the following conditions:
1. Angina pectoris and hypotension
2. Hypoglycemia
It would be better to evaluate for these two conditions and take appropriate measures if any abnormalities are detected.
Kindly get the following investigations done:
1. ECG and Echocardiogram.
2. Random blood glucose.
3. Blood pressure.
Kindly consult Physician with the report for clinical evaluation and management accordingly.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
