What Causes Sudden Swelling And Pain In The Ankle?

After cutting weeds on a slope in backyard. I had no symptoms, then one hour later after standing washing the dishes my foot and ankle where very painful. Hard to even walk, my ankle is swollen from 4 above ankle to above my arch of the foot on the top side. After two and a half days it feels a little better but my ankle is still swollen. I have been resting and elevating my foot and socking my in Epson salt and warm water in the evenings. It s just no getting better by much, the most painful time is the late evening.
