What Causes Sudden Swelling On Neck?

what would cause a sudden swelling of either the right or left side of my neck lasting about 2 hours no severe pain just tighten feeling and a feeling like I ate sweetarts in my mouth.This has happened 3 times in the last several weeks. no sob no ill feeling nka on synthroid no other meds. cholestrol level300. I did not tolarate three different chol lowering meds >liver enzymes

As per your query you have swelling in your neck . wellthere can be many reasins for symptoms you mentiin in querylike tonsillitis ,laryngitis or lymphnode swelling . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis .Doctor may order throat swab test , viral culture test ,blood test and allergy test .Doctor may prescribe antibiotics (amoxicillin), anti inflammatory and anti allergic .FOr now do warm saline gargles , take benadryl twice a day and avoid food like nuts and sea food .
