I am experiencing unexplained rapid weight loss. I have lost 17 pounds in 14 weeks . I did start braces and have had laser ablation and two rounds of sclereotherepy. In the last two weeks I have almost doubled my food intake and have not gained ant weight. I have no pain,no inflammation and my stools are normal. Urine is normal to. No discoloration or bleeding. I am 119 pounds now. 5 feet 7 inches. I usually am around 135 pounds. 50 years old. I eat healthy. I stay away from processed foods and sugar.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Unintentional weight can sometimes be concerning. If there was an initial decrease or change in diet when the braces were first applied then this may have contributed to it.

It would be best to see your doctor to determine the cause of your weight loss.

This would require a physical examination and thorough history of all symptoms.

Investigations would be needed. The initial investigations may be a complete blood count, ESR (non specific inflammatory marker), liver and kidney function, thyroid function tests and stool tests for blood.

Imaging may be needed depending on the findings.

I hope this helps
