What Causes Sudden Word Errors While Speaking?

This afternoon I got a phone call, when asked a question I only answered with totally off the wall words that meant nothing. I was thinking clearly but answered with totally unrelated words. I kept trying and finally just hung up. After about 15 minutes I started clearing up my words. What could this be and should I immediately go to a Dr.

Short answer : Yes.

This could be Expressive Aphasia. May be subtle stoke has affected Broca's area of brain.( probably in left side).

Evaluation of stroke needs through examination of nervous system as well as treatment of comorbidity like diabetes, hypertension.Also CT scan or MRI and some blood investigation to know location and extent of damage.
