What Causes Sugar Level Variation After Having Food?

hi i am a 38 year old female who has just been diagnosed diabetic. I usually register 128 before dinner if i dont eat lunch. ihave been eating lunch and 4 hours later my reading is 183. is it the food i ate or something else. i take 500mg of metformin 2 pills 2x's a day. thanks

Hi, i had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

Yes, the food we eat transforms into glucose. And hence the values are higher around 1-2 hours after food and gradually reduces after that. The sugar level you have mentioned is slightly higher to normal. So try to take small frequent meals rather than heavy less meals.
