What Causes Suicidal Tendencies?

Hello. I was to inquire if being Suicidal is a disease? It is a part of personality disorder, but I was having an argument over with a person if it was a disease or just a stress problem. I don t think it s a disease, as its injected by yourself or the experience that you ve gained around you, but could you make that clear to Me? That woukd be great thanks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Suicidal tendencies are part of depression. You should be able to distinguish between disappointment and depression. Disappointment also brings on symptoms identical to depression but they are short lived. Were you disappointed in the near past?
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. K. V. Anand
