What Causes Sustained Bleeding After Depo-Ralovera Injection?

I have been bleeding for about 12 days now after having Depo-Ralovera contraceptive injection 3 weeks ago. my doctor prescribed Ponstan 2 days ago and I have since been taking it. the cramps are a bit better but the bleeding is still persisting, how long before the bleeding can stop?
