What Causes Sweating And Chills Alternatively Post Hysterectomy?
Hello, my mother had a hysterectomy in December 2014 . After the surgery she started having chills & sweating , I asked her doctor about it she said its normal and it won t last for more than 3-5 months . But it did actually and sometimes she can t sleep because of it . The ovaries was removed as well .. My question is how long does these chills last , and does the hormone strips ( stickers ) help stoping it without any dangerous side effects ?
This is from hormonal disturbance, as seen in postmenopausal syndrome. Most women tolerates this to some extend. If quite disturbing, hormone replacement is the best modality of treatment.
But this does have some side effects like hypertension or high blood sugar, but significance varies among patients. In women with history of hypertension, diabetes or heart disease, this is better avoided. Kindly discuss with your doctor.
Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
