What Causes Sweating And Warm Sensation In The Groin Area?

I am a 71 year old male and over the past 3-4 months have developed a warm, sweaty, tacky groin condition which manifests primarily while I sleep. Both sides of the groin are warm to the touch and the sweaty nature is most noticeable when I wake in the morning. I have had an enlarged prostate condition and BPH since 2010. My PSA test last October was at an elevated 5.1 from a 4.0 in January 2014. I mentioned all of this to my doctor today, who wants to do another PSA test. Any thoughts on meds which might be causing this sweaty groin condition? I am taking generic Flomax. Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi!

We will try to help you in the best way possible.
First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to medicine.

The area you mentioned is rich in sweat glands and it can cause excessive sweating.Though other endocrine causes needs to be ruled out, if problem persists and thyroid functions as well.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin,
