Hello,
You are suffering from
night sweats. You have history of sinus problems and have been taking Allegra-D prescribed by your treating doctor. Night sweats can be caused due to
anxiety, stress (physical and emotional), tensions, respiratory illness, can cause night sweats. Females in peri menopausal phase may experience
flushing and night sweats.
Other causes of night sweats can be chronic sinus problem with asthma, unresolved infection of the lungs,
pneumonia, etc. Bacterial infections may cause fevers which as they cycle can cause night sweats. Viral infection of upper
respiratory tract which include the sinuses also presents with slight fever in the evening.
Be careful of the medications you have been taking, certain medications have side effects that can cause sweating at night like
prednisone, pain relievers, like
ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), Viagra, PPIs, asthma inhalers, are also a potential culprit.
Talk to your healthcare provider, so that the required blood workouts can be done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. Your treating doctor may tell you to get done imaging tests like X-ray, CT, MRI, etc., so that you can be treated. Stay away from addictions if any,
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
