What Causes Sweet Smelling Urine?

I have sweet smelling urine, but I don t have diabetes. I am a 20 year old female and have morphea, celaics, and was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I take montelukast, plaquinel, tirosint, and birth control. Is it because of these things? I have noticed it when I sweat too it smells sweet.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

In my opinion the most likely cause for your sweet smelling urine and sweat are the medications you are under. Some of these medications can be excreted from the body through the various body fluids like urine, sweat, etc.

I would not worry too much about it, and would just keep you well monitored (i.e. call you in for an elaborate health check up at least twice a year). Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
