What Causes Swelling Above The Anus?

I have swelling just above the anus, it sometimes bleeds, and sometimes there is more of a puss like discharge. It is not everyday but has been going on off and on for about 4 months. It will appear for a couple weeks and then disappear for a couple weeks

It could be haemorrhoids or it could be a localised infection also. I advise you to get it checked out by a physician.
