What Causes Swelling And A Bruise On The Thigh?

I have a swollen bulge beside a bruise on my thigh. I crashed on my bike. The bulge does does not hurt but appears to be filled with liquid. It is about 3-inches in diameter and about 1/2 inch deep. The injury was about 2-weeks ago. The bruise is healing nicely but the bulge isn t shinking. Should I be concerned?parks

It seems that you may have an organized hematoma(blood clot) on the injured area of the thigh. It will resolve slowly. Hot compress will hasten the process. You should be concerned only if it gets infected, when it will increase in size and become painful. Then it will require surgical evacuation.
