What Causes Swelling And Blockage In The Left Nostril?

Good evening. Left nostril is swollen shut. Outside portion of left nostril extremely swollen. You can see it looking head on at my face. When feeling lump from outside it is HARD! This begins from bridge of nose to middle of left nostril. Blow nose and some discharge as well as blood comes out. However no drip and left nostril is literally swollen shut from in side OUT. I am in a LOT of pain. Head is pounding. Also some chest pain left nostril looking deformed and so painful. Tried to slide qtip with peroxide up there to see if I could clear this up but can barely get quip up there. Throbbin so bad. Clear liquid came out. SO GROSS! Help!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hi,

please don't experiment, what you are seeing is could be vestibulitis that means infection of nasal hair follicle. Don't try to put peroxide over it, will get worse. You can apply Neosporin H ointment over the swelling, take pain killer for your pain and do see an ENT specialist as soon as possible, as you will require antibiotics.
