What Causes Swelling And Blue Discoloration In The Right Foot?
My right foot has been retaining water and swollen. Now turning blue and covers my foot and working up my ankle. No falls. No major lifestyle changes. I m 52. Adopted...on biological fathers side suffers heart problems and death at a young age. I m a fairly big woman 5 9 200 pounds. But active and work 12 hour days. This started 4-5 days ago. But seems to be getting worse by the day. I had a water pill prescription, that I never used. Even utilizing a dietetic and I m a power water drinker of about 6-8 liters daily. I sincerely appreciate your time and consideration. I do have a family Doctor of 20 years that I love. But it s the weekend. So...here I am. And a little concerned, to,say the least. Thank you, Laurie J Beaty, Anchorage, AK
We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, with discolouration and swelling it needs to be evaluated as soon as possible and may need an ultrasound.
Doppler to rule out any blocked blood vessels and surgical review should be sought. If normal medicine used to excrete more water in urine may be started to decrease the swelling.
