What Causes Swelling And Bruising Of The Throat ?

I vomited two days ago and my throat still hurts. It feels bruised and is very hard to swallow. I went to urgent care the day after it happened because it felt so swollen I was having a hard time swallowing and breathing. They just said it was sore from vomiting. It doesn t burn though. It literally feels like I ve been punched. Is this normal???

Hello
This is because of prolonged retching. Try some cold milk and try to have cold liquids. If problem persists you can take syrup containing lignocan. It will relieve you from pain and will give time to mucosa to heal.
