What Causes Swelling And Bruising On Arm After Drawing Blood?

I had my blood drawn on Thursday. It hurt from the time she suck me until hours afterwards. My arm was very swollen and painful. Now it is still swollen, has a bump and the bruise is several different colors. Should I get it checked out or wait to see if it all goes away in a few days/

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

There is nothing to worry. It is just a bruise .

It will disappear in a few days on its own.

I would suggest you to apply Thrombophob gel locally.

If it does not heal on its own , visit a physician. He/she can examine and correlate clinically.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
