What Causes Swelling And Discoloration Of Foot Post Tendons Repair?

Hi I had surgery on 18/01/16 to repair 4 EDL tendons across the top of my right foot. On 3/01/16 I had a fiberglass cast put on below the knee. Today, a day after getting the fiberglass cast put on my toes become purple/red when the foot is not elevated for 5mins-if I get up to have something to eat etc. within 1 min of re-elevation they return to there normal colour... Is this normal swelling or course for concern

Hi.

Possibly improper cast application, you should speak to your doctor about the same. Do not panic and do not consider this a cause for concern, it is a minor technicality that can be dealt with in a matter of 10 minutes, all you need to do is to visit your doctor, thats all, and all will be fine. :)

Best wishes.
