What Causes Swelling And Pain At The Site Of The Sting?

Hi, I got stung by a stingray on the right side of my right foot a couple of hours ago. I came home and immediately soaked it in hot water and squeezed as much of the venom out that I could and took a benadryl. My foot is a little swollen and still throbs a bit. Is there anything else that I can do?

Hello,

You can continue Benadryl for some days until the leg will be no more swell and nothing more. If it continues than better for you to be seen by your doctor closely.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
