What Causes Swelling And Pain In Ankles While Having Varicose Veins And Baker S Cyst?

Hi Doctor, I am a Indian male of 37 years. I have vericose veins and baker s cist in both of my legs. My ankles become swollen by noon time and cause pain. My doctor has advised me to take SUMO tablet in case of extreme pain. I wish to know if this is safe.....many thanks

Hello,

This is a painkiller which is not really safe. In my opinion, it is necessary for you to be wearing compression socks to help prevent the leg swelling and pain. In case of pain, I would recommend taking Ibuprofen. Putting your legs in a raised position can help reduce the swelling too.
