What Causes Swelling And Pain In Leg While On Morphine?

Hi, I just got a call this morning that my sister she went to the hospital because her leg was swollen up to her goin from her feet,she has been having abdominal pain to the point where she is on the floor in pain, she bleeds when she goes to the bathroom the doctors found a mass in her colon, her temperature is 103, and her blood count is 11.3. They are giving her a blood transfusion. She is on morphine. I am concerned and don t know what is wrong with her yet. I live in Montana and she is in Florida.

Swollen legs and pain may be due to compression of lower limbs blood vessels by her colon mass.An abdominal CT scan may help to determine the nature of the mass.Colon masses may be surgically removed. Her Doctors are in the best position to evaluate all the options.Just be calm and trust her Doctors.
