What Causes Swelling And Pain In Shoulder Post Rotor Cuff Surgery?

Had rotor cuff surgery about 3 months ago and everything went well including Been very active now playing golf and about anything I want with very little discomfort. Within the last week, I have notice my shoulder is sore and even swollen. I have iced it, which helps but it swells again the next day, Hard to sleep on that shoulder again. Should I go see the doctor? Could I have re torn the tendon? thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You can use anti-inflammatory drugs such Advil or Naproxen for pain. Reduce movement and use ice. You can visit your doctor to examine it physically.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
