What Causes Swelling And Pain In The IV Injection Site?

I had a nurse either blew the vein in my hand when putting in the IV or just plain went straight through the vein with it, either way that was a week ago. My arm is still swollen and sore from it, and now there are lumps in the vein. It started cramping and has hindered my daily activities. Should i be worried about muscle damage?
