What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Ankle After Falling Down?

I have jumped from 7 feet wall,i didn't landed perfectly(i landed on a rock). my ankle hurts a lot.It is swollen around the ankle part(i could barely sleep with the pain).i'm worried its a fracture.i consulted a doctor.the Dr has given me tablets, injection and a pain relieving gel and also tied a bandage . The next day i felt comfortable(no pain at all).Again visited the Doctor, he told its not a fracture.
Can i now be sure that its not a fracture?
