What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Arm After Receiving Pneumonia Vaccination?
My 50 yr old daughter was given A Flu and pneumonia vaccination within 1 inch of each other in the same arm. Now on day 3 c/o increasing swelling redness & pain with decrease range of motion of her arm. Feels sick like Flu with body aches, nausea, sweats, and pulse of 110. Has been taking Motrin around the clock and using an ice pack on arm for pain relief. Has been in bed for 2 days.
The flu vaccine can sometimes bring on mild symptoms of the flu itself and this may be the case for your daughter. Aches and pain, nausea, increased pulse and sweats can occur in the flu. The use of Motrin is appropriate and can be continued along with the fluids and rest.In most cases the symptoms resolve within a few days but if she feels very unwell or the symptoms are severe then she should see her doctor for an assessment.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
