What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Face And Gums?
My face swelled and my gums both hurting and could hardly talk. My speech was slurred( I had been out in heat, but don't feel that I overheated although my face was extremely hot, happened on Friday evening. Still hard t concentrate, could this just be heat exhaustion? Also really bad headache that will not go away
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain pain in gums along with swelling on face can be due to causes like tooth infection leading to dental abscess, while can also be due to inflamed gum flap around the wisdom tooth leading to Pericoronitis... It can also be related to infection in the Parotid gland that is a major salivary gland while can also be due to sinus infection..
So a detailed examination both clinically and x rays is a must to rule out the exact cause and then only the appropriate line of treatment can be advised..
As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and Serratiopeptidase combination and do cool compresses over the swelling.. Gargle with Lignocaine mouthwash to reduce gum pain.. Take a soft and semisolid diet but do not starve..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
