Understanding your concern. As per your query you are suffering from swelling and pain in the jaw after dental anesthesia which is common at times after extraction of tooth and it causes difficult mouth opening. At times needle gets inserted or pierced in nerve endings leading to these symptoms. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply warm compresses and do warm saline gargles. Eat soft and light food and avoid any hard and warm food substance. Take ice creams to fasten healing. Visit oral physician once if symptoms keeps on persisting and get it examined and start treatment accordingly. You should take multivitamin tablets as well.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
