Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My lips are inflamed, painful, dry, raw. The only thing that doesn't burn is vitamin E oil. I was at the beach last week when it started, but I was using an SPF 15 lipstick during the day. It's like they're chapped but won't get better, and it seems more than topical.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of swelling and pain in the lips which is because of allergic angioedema and could be because of melanin deposition due to excessive exposure to UV rays of sun.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to wash area with cold water and salicylic acid face wash. Use tea tree oil dipped in cotton swab for fastening the healing and prevent discoloration. Avoid pricking lips. You will get relief in 1-2 weeks, if your condition keeps on persisting visit dermatologist once and start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight. Apply natural lip balm on lips to prevent from drying and don't apply with finger as that will cause infection and apply directly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
