What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Nasopharynx Cervical Nodes?

I have swelling and pain of my nasopharynx cervical nodes, on both sides. I suffer from sinus problems and thought I was getting a cold a couple of weeks ago, but symptoms decreased. A little over a week ago the swelling and pain came on suddenly. I am still having sinus drainage, and the pollen is very bad here. Could this be the cause?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per history, lymph nodes seem to be enlarged from the reactive cause, secondary to chronic sinusitis. Your CBC and PNS X-ray investigations need to be done for further work up. To rule out the nature of lesion (swelling), FNAC investigation is done.

Consult otorhinolaryngologist for examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
