What Causes Swelling And Pain In The Vagina After Intercourse?

Hi I had intercourse last night, I am on birth control, and there was no condom. I woke up in the middle of the night to a burning sensation of my labia. When I looked I saw that my labia majora was swollen and very tender. The burning has since gone, but the labia is still huge and swollen, walking hurts and sitting in certain positions is painful as well. Is this a serious issue? Will the swelling go down with consistent cleaning with water, and keeping it away from scented products ect?

Hi, I think it can be because of the intercourse. But you should go for evaluation. Consult a gynecologist for pelvic examination to rule out any trauma. You can take some pain killers. Hope I have answered your question.
