What Causes Swelling And Pain Of Back And Chest Area?

In the middle part of my back on each side under my rib cage is swollen and hurting. Just wondering if there was any specific cause for this. I m 8 months pregnant and every time I mention my back hurting to my dr he says its just the pregnancy and you won t he pregnant forever . Not once has he even felt where its swollen or asked for anymore details.
