What Causes Swelling And Pain On The Left Side Of The Neck?

My sister in law is complaining of swelling and pain on her neck and the left side of her face is in lots of pain. She is having difficulty swallowing and has developed as well a swollen tongue and white like sores or spots on the underside of her tongue. Needlesstosay she is not feeling well at all. She is going to emergency tonight..?

As per your complain swelling and pain on cheek and neck with difficulty in swallowing and swollen tongue and white sores underside the tongue can be related to causes like:
1. Allergic reaction to any food or medicine..
2. Tooth infection.
3. Infection in gum flap over the wisdom tooth, also known as Pericoronitis.
4. Salivary gland infection..

Consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like blood test and x ray can help in diagnosis and will be treated accordingly..

As of now take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and anti allergic like levocetrizine to reduce pain and swelling..
You can also do cool compresses over the cheek..
Take a soft diet..
