What Causes Swelling And Redness Around A Nexplanon Implant?
I have the nexplanon. I had it implanted about 2 months ago. A couple days ago I slept on it wrong or something because it hurt when I woke up and I thought it had shifted up a little. Later that day I noticed it swelling and red so I thought it was my skin irritated because it had shifted from me layin on it or something. It s been about 2 days and now I feel these big lumps over the rod but not directly on the insertion point. It was painful he past couple of days but since the bumps formed it doesn t really hurt. What is it? Is there something wrong?
Swelling and redness what you are noticing at the site of Nexplanon implant appears that you could be having an inflammatory reaction of the skin. In case it is an allergic reaction, it can be treated by use of anti-histamine medications. Otherwise, based on the nature of the reaction, the implant may need to be removed and placed at a different site. Kindly consult Gynecologist promptly for appropriate evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further. All the best.
