Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husbands feet (both) are red and swollen. He does get gout but this is his whole foot from the toes to the ankle. One foot is slightly worse than than the other. He says they do not hurt but about 3 weeks ago, he could hardly walk. After giving him 4 advil and putting his feet up, they didn t hurt the next day but were and are still swollen and red. He poo poos me when I say he has to go to the doctor!
As per my clinical experience, as the issue is involving both feet, the possibility of trauma is ruled out. The rest of the possibilities include vascular insufficiency for venous return, cardiac pumping issues with low ejection fraction or others. He requires immediate medical assistance for examination and if needed evaluation via ultrasound or Doppler examination of the limbs.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
