What Causes Swelling And Redness In The Finger?

I was horseplaying & punched my boyfriend & now my finger is swollen & red just in-between the end of the nail to a little past the first knuckle not sure if it will get better on it's own or not, I put ice on it for 48hrs & I can bend it but it has a lump where the pinky bends at the top, hoping it will go away in time, any thoughts?

Well the punch might have cause soft tissue injury, you can take tablet Ibuprofen thrice a day after food for a day, and if the swelling still doesn't subside, fracture should be considered, an Xray would confirm that.
