What Causes Swelling And Redness In Throat?

I went to the doctor for sore throat.I thought it could be from allergies but it felt different than that. I have a little swelling and redness on the left side of throat and get a burning frim it. He is not sure what is causing it and said I have fluid in the ears. He prescribed Biaxin. Not sure if this will help or if a different antibiotic would work better.

Hi,
from history it seems that you might be having pharyngitis mostly of bacterial infection giving this problem.
Continue with Baxin antibiotic medicine.
Within a day or two you will start getting improvement.
Do warm water salt gargles.
Ok and take care.
