HI, So My Right labia major and right labia minora are pretty swollen and the skin in between both looks very red and irritated almost like a floor burn look and every now and then when i look there is like a weird discharge coming from it. This all has been happening since friday. It happened right after i had sex with my boyfriend. The sex was a little rough and a little dry could it be from that and how do i make it go away?

Hallow Dear,

Your history is suggesting that you are having Bartholin's infection with abscess formation. Usually, Bartholin's abscess is due to sexually transmitted infection - Gonorrhoea or Chlamydia. Bartholin's glands are situated just under the Labia majora.

These infections can be treated by antibiotics completely. However, being sexually transmitted infection, both the partners should take the treatment simultaneously.

Once an abscess is formed, it needs to be incised, drained and the edges to be marsupialized.

Delay in treatment may cause the infection ascend to the higher organs leading to infertility. Please report to your Gynaecologist ASAP.
