What Causes Swelling And Soreness In The Toe?

Hi, I have read up about the issue some people have had with their toes clicking on almost every step they take. I have the same problem, yet I have not really found any solution (maybe physio) to what can help this be reduced. Also, my great toe on my left foot was fractured back in January which I believe has not healed properly. Every time I go on a hike, even just 2km, it gives me pain by the end of it. Even football and skating which are my hobbies are hard to now participate in. I have just recently been to the hospital for an X-ray on this and nothing could be seen. They told me that it may be some damaged tissue but personally I feel like it is the bone that is quite sore when I press the toe in places. The toe does swell from time to time after these activities and rest is needed. Even you could help me and possibly point me in the right direction as of what can help, that would be great! Thanks, Dale.

Hello,

A swollen toe could be the result of trauma or infection or it could be a symptom of a condition such as arthritis.

If you don't know why your toe is swollen and the swelling persists and is accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, see your doctor for a full diagnosis and recommendation for treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
