Hi I had sex 2 days ago with my long term boyfriend. The next day I noticed my labia minora was swollen and tender to touch. I thought it would go away and today it is much worse and even more swollen and tender. I am on birth control and 2 days ago the sex was unprotected. Help me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
THanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
What problems you are having is due to local inflammatory reaction caused due to mechanical pressures while having unprotected intercourse.
Kindly take the following measures to overcome the symptoms:
1. Wash the area with cold water and mild antiseptic solution twice daily.
2. After drying, apply Hydrocortisone skin cream on the lesions.
3. Take tablet Ibuprofen twice daily after food and tablet Levocetrizine once daily to reduce inflammation.
Abstain from sexual activities till the lesions subside completely. Avoid wearing tight undergarments till the symptoms subside.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside in a couple of days time.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
