What Causes Swelling And Tingling Sensation On The Finger After An Injury?

I cut my the tip of my middle finger with some fabric scissors Sunday evening. I went to the ER as it would not stop bleeding. It is small in diameter. The nurse there put the dressing on too tightly. So much that it caused my hand and other fingers to hurt so much I couldn t sleep. I went into a doctor yesterday who removed the dressing and have a follow up with him on Tuesday. The finger tip is swollen, sore, looks bruised, and when I press on it feels tingly. I just want to make sure it is just bruising and nothing worse.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a contusion or local inflammation.

As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists better to consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
