What Causes Swelling And Tingly Feeling In Foot?

I had edema in my right foot and there was a tingly feeling til it went away. I know that this was because of hi heat and no air conditioning and the way I was sleeping. I mention this because I have the same kind if tingly sensation in 1/2 of my left hand. It is in the side of the hand with the pinky finger. The tingle is also in the tips of the 3rd, 4th and all of the 5th finger. Is this cause by the heat as well nothing looks swollen. Or could it be the sleeping position on an all but non-existent mattress on a hard surface?
