What Causes Swelling Around A Tetanus Injection Site?
Hi doctor.i was bitten by a dog on 3rd mar and I was given my first shot of anti rabies along with tetanus.after few days I developed swelling where tetanus was given and hence given amoxylin and brufen for it.now my swelling is fine and have 3 more shots left as there were total of 5 shots to be given.i was also planning for pregnancy. We last got intimate around 25 or 26th of feb when my last date of period was 16th feb.i still don t have any symptoms of periods.im also taking folic acid and gyni gave me okamet for 15 days.does any of them indicate that my periods came be delayed?i usually never have problems with my menstrul cycle can u please guide.and also now after the anti rabies shot when can I start planning for a baby again
The swelling at tetanus injection site for a transient period of time may be possible due to subcutaneous route of the administration taking some time to get totally absorbed in the body.
If persistent beyond an hour or so, maybe from inadequate drug absorption or tissue reaction from the solvent used to preserve the vaccine.
Ice application will help greatly in the latter case.

If persistent beyond an hour or so, maybe from inadequate drug absorption or tissue reaction from the solvent used to preserve the vaccine. Ice application will help greatly in the latter case.
