What Causes Swelling Around Belt Line While Having Hernia?
I am a 63 year old male ...last 4 weeks have had pain and swelling on left side around belt line. had an xray done and have a very small hernia . hurts to sit and now even to sleep. pain is also in hip and back. going for a colon scope in a couple of weeks but it hurts like hell. first dr said it was just a mucle strain . But I havent done anything for 2 weeks and the swelling is getting worse. when walking in store it hurts wven worse. no constpation. heat helps a little but not much. YYYY@YYYY

From history it seems that there might be having inguinal hernia giving this problem.
While walking intestinal stuff enters into canal giving rise severe pain.
Consult surgeon and get examined.
On clinical examination it will give clear idea about your problem.
Avoid cough reflex and constipation.
