What Causes Swelling Around Eye And Nose Along With Purple Eyelid?

I fell and hit my face on my bathroom marble floor. I am swollen around my right eye and right side of nose. And my eyelid has turned purple/red. Also my neck hurts, like I slept on it wrong. I m also feeling some sinus pressure and headache today. I m wondering if it is all related and if I need to get a CT scan?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Welcome to HCM and thanks for choosing us.

I share your concerns. The condition you have is called black eye, it is due to blood collection around the eye. When there is injury in forehead or in face , blood collects around eye because there are soft tissue around eyeballs.

You need to take a x ray of the affected part to rule out fracture of facial bones. You will need painkillers for relief. Visit Emergency Department because you will require opinionsof ENT,EYE, NEUROSURGEON and DENTIST. in ED all doctors will be available at Same time.

I hope my reply will help you. Please contact us for any other query. I wish you good health and rapid recovery. Kindly rate this reply. Thanks
