What Causes Swelling Around Neck, Sore Throat And Profuse Sweating?

hello and thanks for the help. age 17 and 145 lbs i have never had a severe illness so im the average healthy teen. sunday i notice a swelling around my neck under my chin.(most likely swollen lymph nodes. i did a little research) monday i felt a sore throat and the swelling increased by tuesday i had a very bad sore throat. sleeping was bad, woke up multiple times sweating profusely and with an UNBEARABLY sore throat. wednesday i knew i had to see a doctor. she said my glands were swollen and prescribed me with Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium tablets. they kind of helped but i was still very sore in the throat and the same swelling. today i woke up and it was just as unbearable, i got hall s cough drops and they helped a little. as the day went on i felt major throat improvement to where i could actually eat but still a swollen gland, about the same size as before. now soreness is back but it is actually bearable. I have a feeling tonight will be just as bad as the past 2, any suggestions to help? Also could i possibly have lymphoma? I did smoke cigarettes daily but i quit 2 days ago. I just want to know what i have and sorry about this whole paragraph but i really appreciate the help:)
