What Causes Swelling Around The Ankles With Discoloration?

After a day on jury duty that required 15 minutes of standing and sitting from 8:00am until 5:30,pm my feet begin to swell on the medial side of the ankle and on top, with darkening of the skin; my lower right back hurts (possibly disc issue) the upper center of my back hurts making breathing painful; my upper arms hurt so much I can barely reach my hand to my head; and I have a low grade temperature (99.9). This has been constant for two weeks and counting. Any ideas? I have a history of essential thrombocythemia, degenerative disc disease, hypertension, high cholesterol and had major surgery 10/15 (cholectomy, adhesion lysis and gall bladder removal)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to blunt trauma. For further assessment you may require X Ray ankle after orthopedician consultation. For pain you can take tablet Acetaminophen.

You may require surgical intervention after surgeon consultation. Use support while walking. Avoid direct pressure on feet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam Kale
