What Causes Swelling Around The Jawline After Taking Azithromycin?

I just started taking Azithromycin, 500 mg for acute sinusitis and severe bronchitis. I also have diabetes, hypertension, been diagnosed years ago with mitral valve prolapse & fibromyalgia & Raynaud's. I have a lot of allergies....penicillin, sulfa, etc. I probably am paranoid when it comes to how I feel after any new medication. Right now I feel like my face is larger, especially around the jawline, but it's not....and I feel a little flushed. I also just took my regular meds about the same time plus my Vit D....have a Vit D deficiency. Anyway, just wondering if this flushed feeling, etc was anything of which I needed to be concerned.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As a physician, I would like to tell you that as you yourself have mentioned, you could be having paranoid about this Azithromycine. Just take a opinion of other family member about this situation and if they feel that your face is swollen, you should stop taking the medicine and visit a physician as soon as possible.

Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question. Have a nice day.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
