What Causes Swelling At The Back Of Arm With Stinging Pain?
I was bite by something inside my glove while working outside yesterday, below index finger on back of hand. It felt like my hand was on fire, and the bite location soon began to feel sticky (half dollar size area). There is minimal swelling, no definitive bite marks, just radiating pain/burning into related finger, and forearm. I would rate the pain about an 8, enough to prevent sleep.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.
As per your complain it seems that you have got a localized anaphylactic reaction with the poisonous chemical injected by the bug or insect while it stung your finger.. You should take anti allergic medication like Benadryl or allegra, take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, do cold compresses over the finger and also apply steroid ointment and calamine lotion. In case if there is severe pain you can take higher painkiller like Tramadol.. In case if there is no improvement even after one week you can consult an Allergist and get evaluated and treatment can be planned accordingly..
Hope this informations helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
